end diet culture

Diet culture has taught us that thin bodies are the picture of health, and that to be thin you must restrict your food intake and exercise hard. This led to generations of fad diets which may work at the beginning, but in long term led to weight gain. Does this sound familiar?

Well, luckily the science has evolved and we now know this is not the case. Your body is so complex, and looking at weight loss as calories in and calories out is doing an incredible disservice to the capability of the body, by looking at it as a machine. There are many factors involved in weight gain/loss which include stress levels, hormones, blood sugar/insulin function, and metabolic health.

A list of things that are more important than what your body looks like:

❤︎ Being loving (to yourself and others)
❤︎ Being kind
❤︎ Laughing often
❤︎Being compassionate
❤︎ Making the people around you feel good
❤︎ Helping others
❤︎ Consuming whole foods
❤︎ Drinking enough water
❤︎ Moving your body out of love
❤︎ Participating in life
❤︎ Doing your part for the environment
❤︎ Keeping your mind healthy

Focus on the way you live, rather than the way you look.

Through my own experience and struggles with my weight, I know how important it is to have someone supporting you that sees you for more than your body and has the tools to help you. I am here to ensure you are nourished and fed, are consuming good quality whole foods, and are optimising your lifestyle and environment to support a balanced weight (if this is one of your goals).

It’s time to let go of diet culture.
